What assemblies does PSA Fund? What is food insecurity?
What can I do to help my child transition better to the school day?
The Scholastic Book Fair is more than a nostalgic smell or just a place for new books. Book fair:
Gives your child FREEDOM to make their own purchasing decisions
Provides the opportunity for families to discuss how to spend money and handle “change” (e.g.- Save, Spend, Donate)
Let’s faraway relatives and friends be part of the Book Fair using eWallet
Gives rewards back to the school
Makes the kids SMILE!!!
Book Fair 24/25 is coming in March during “Read Across America” week for Kelly on March 4-6 & Linntown on March 6-7. If parents would like to attend, you may visit the Book Fair early with your child on February 28th from 4:00-6:00pm.
All money raised during Dragon Dash goes directly back to the school and students.
Our goal was to raise $40,000 to support our elementary-level schools. YOU CRUSHED IT and our total including Panera & Wagging Tail support was $44,040.30. CUE the hype DJ music!
This year our student prizes are awarded to:
Classes with 100% participation receiving a DJ-DANCE Party Recess: Mallett, Vance, Leitzel, Diggins, Herb, Madara, Mostik, Ottman, Fawver, Lutze, Henry (Dates coming soon!)
ALL-GRADE ROLLER SKATE PARTIES held during winter months (when we’re all going a little stir-crazy):
February 22: Kindergarten - Second Grade
March 15: Third - Fifth Grade
And our “Principals for the Day” are: Julia Chebes and Camden Wilhelm!
The financial support you gave is huge, but the intangibles are why we do this work. Dragon Dash is super exciting for our kids- the smiles, determination and community spirit that they experience at Dragon Dash sticks with them.
You could see it in the faces of the high schoolers that volunteered with us this year. They all remember Dragon Dash with that big elementary smile and a sense of pride.
The students also love their (free) Dragon Dash t-shirts and they are worn with pride all throughout the year. Whether students have other Lewisburg gear or not - EVERY student has a Dragon Dash shirt and it tells them that THEY BELONG.
As a donor, YOU gave that feeling of belonging to these kids. And it matters. THANK YOU.
The PSA is planning some awesome things this year and we are excited to have a budget to support field trips, assemblies, books for our libraries and more!
Thank you, Kristin Kraus, for coordinating Dragon Dash 2024.
One Book creates a shared reading experience within a school community. A chapter book is chosen and every student receives a copy. Curriculum and activities at school coordinate promote and enrich the shared reading experience.
